Our featured aircraft this year will be a North American B-25J Mitchell, a North American P-51 Mustang, a Douglas C-47 Skytrain and a Douglas DC-3. The B-25J is an American twin-engine medium WWII bomber. The P-51 Mustang is a distinctively designed WWII fighter plane. The B-25J and P-51 aircraft both trained at Page Field. The C-47 Skytrain is a U.S. Army Air Force military transport aircraft that participated in the Normandy invasion. The DC-3 is a fixed-wing propeller aircraft that served as an American Airlines passenger plane and is the second oldest flying DC-3 in the world. Other attractions will include experimental, antique and other general aviation aircraft exhibits, airplane and helicopter rides, performances by the Southwest Florida Big Band, children’s activities, character appearances, clowns, face painting, demonstrations by airport police and fire departments, aviation-themed shopping and exhibitors, refreshments and more. Though parking and admission are free, we are asking those coming to the event to help our local community by bringing a non-perishable food item. On Saturday, the celebration will kick off with the raising of the flag by U.S. Military Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. This program starts with hands-on astronomy activities to learn about the planets and distance of our galaxy followed by an evening sky tour and telescope observing. 28th Annual American Sandsculpting Championship and Beach Festival

Come join us on Fort Myers Beach for the 27th Annual American Sand Sculpting Championship and Beach Festival! This will be a fun-filled event that will include World Class Master Sand Sculptors, a State Championship contest, Amateur contest, Quick Sand Speed Sculpting, Sand Sculpting Demonstrations and Lessons, Chain Saw Art, Flying Colors, a kids activity area with bounce houses and slides, and more than 60 vendors. The event is scheduled for 10 days this year, the first week will be the Master Solos and Amateur divisions. The second week will be the Master Doubles and State Championship divisions.
